The Digger is a mongrel dog, a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Labrador Retriever breeds. Friendly, affectionate and intelligent, these puppies inherit some of the best qualities of their two parents. Cavadors are also known as Cavadoor or Cavadore. Interactive toys are a must, as well as following a proper training regimen. Diggers need plenty of exercise to keep them happy. HISTORY

The Digger is a more recent breed that many people estimate first appeared in the 1990s. It has become a dog in high demand, which is not surprising when you consider that one of its parent breeds, the Labrador Retriever, is usually considered the most popular dog in the United States. Barking Retrievers – originally called St. John’s Dogs – originated in Canada, where they were considered sporting dogs used for hunting and fishing. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, in keeping with its regal name, dates back to at least the 17th century and used to be the dog of choice for kings and queens. The Cavalier has become a designer dog breed, but many of them unfortunately end up in shelters. So consider contacting local rescue groups and shelters if you are thinking of adding the Digger to your home.
