The Digger is a mongrel dog, a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Labrador Retriever breeds. Friendly, affectionate and intelligent, these puppies inherit some of the best qualities of their two parents. Cavadors are also known as Cavadoor or Cavadore. You can find these mixed breed dogs at breed-specific shelters and rescues, so remember to always adopt. Don’t buy if you want to add one of these mixed breed puppies to your home. Diggers make excellent family pets and also often work as service dogs. If you are looking for a dedicated family dog with warm and playful instincts, this could be the mixed breed for you. The Digger does exceptionally well with children and will happily participate in joint human-canine play sessions.
Cavadors are mixed breed dogs. They are not pure breeds like their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Labrador Retriever parents. You will find that Cavadors come in a range of colors. The most popular colors are yellow, brown, black, red and gold. Cavadors have a short to medium coat that is often described as dense and smooth. A couple of grooming sessions a week are sufficient. The breed sheds hair at a moderate rate. Diggers make excellent companion animals. It is a friendly and fun breed that enjoys children. Be sure to teach your children how to behave properly and respectfully with a dog. You will want to be sure to keep your Digger mentally stimulated. Interactive toys are a must, as well as following a proper training regimen. Diggers need plenty of exercise to keep them happy. Aim for a couple of half-hour walks a day, and feel free to include ball games and running sessions.
The Digger is a more recent breed that many people estimate first appeared in the 1990s. It has become a dog in high demand, which is not surprising when you consider that one of its parent breeds, the Labrador Retriever, is usually considered the most popular dog in the United States. Barking Retrievers – originally called St. John’s Dogs – originated in Canada, where they were considered sporting dogs used for hunting and fishing. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, in keeping with its regal name, dates back to at least the 17th century and used to be the dog of choice for kings and queens. The Cavalier has become a designer dog breed, but many of them unfortunately end up in shelters. So consider contacting local rescue groups and shelters if you are thinking of adding the Digger to your home.
